Work and Mothering

Last week was very long for me because I worked 4 days instead of 2. It is nice that my manager allows me to pick up extra hours if I would like. I have been working for almost 3 months now and it seems to be going fine. We are trying to figure out what to do with the kids once our babysitter goes back to school. It is kind of a stressful thing but I am sure we will figure something out!
I can not believe that it is the last week of July already. Where did the summer go? My trip to walmart was not cool, seeing all of the school supplies out. Yuk!

On Saturday Phil and I and the kids took a day trip to Phil's parents new house. We got on the road around 7am and got there around 11. It is very beautiful out there and relaxing. I like driving through the country looking at the mountains, horses, cows, and farms. We enjoyed BLT's for lunch and shish-ca-bobs and sweet corn on the cob for dinner. The trip home seemed like it took forever because we were all very tired and ready to crawl up and fall asleep anywhere possible. Esmie slept before we got out of town and slept the whole way home, which was nice. Chance on the other hand got hungry about 45 minutes into the ride. We still have our car so one car seat is on each side, my wide hips had to squish in between them so I could feed Chance without us having to stop. While I was feeding him we were listening to a few dixie chicks songs and I can't remember right now which one it was but as I was listening to the words and feeding my baby, looking in the mirror at my dear Husband, and to my right at my daughter, I could have cried. I am so lucky to have my own little family, to be the best Mother I can be to my two wonderful kids. To be the best wife I can be to Phil.
If you don't have kids it is so hard to explain how this kind of love feels. The way your kids look at you, call out your name, smile in return, giggle. It just warms my heart! I am extremely thankful for all that I have.
I love being a mother and wife. It is the best job...and of course sometimes hard but we learn right? Sometimes the hard way. Esmie still does not listen to me much when I say "no". She has attitude for sure. But even though she can be a little drama queen and thinks she runs the show, I still love her to pieces! I could go on and on but I wouldn't want to bore you any longer. ;)

Anyhow, this Mommy is off to bed. Who knows how early the kids will wake up in the morning. Have a great night everyone!
Take care.
